What ethnic groups besides African Americans have significant black ancestry?
According to DNA research I know Puerto Ricans and Brazilians have about 30-35% African ancestry. Dominicans have even more. But those are the only three ethnic groups I was able to find data on. What other ethnic groups have significant African ancestry? Arabs? Filipinos? Italians? I know that the average white person has about 3% African ancestry. By significant I mean at least 20%. Thanks.
i agree about brazilians. my friend from brazil said that a lot of brazilians who identify as white, may even have one black grandparent or great grandparent.
there are also people from some parts of brazil (bahia especially) who still have ways of life similar to their yoruba ancestors from nigeria. most african descent in brazil comes from the yoruba and igbo people.
